CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has announced that pre-KG, LKG and UKG classes in all schools across the state will remain shut from March 16 to 31 to prevent spread of novel coronavirus.
In border districts (border with Kerala) like Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Theni, Coimbatore, Tirupur and the Nilgiris, Classes I to V will also remain be shut along with kindergarten classes from March 16 to 31.
Commissioner of Tamil Nadu School Education Sigy Thomas Vaidhyan made this announcement on Friday based on an inter-department meeting at the state secretariat.
