CHENNAI: Amid prevalent chaos and uncertainty over access to the essential services and commodities during the lockdown, we bring you the latest updates from your city.
*Chennai corporation is likely to begin today a door-to-door screening for flu-like symptoms across all 200 wards, to break the chain and ensure “asymptomatic” people with domestic/international travel history don’t infect family members, particularly the elderly, during the lockdown.
*Mutton prices have shot up at stalls across the city. While a kg costs Rs 900 at Adyar, it sells at Rs 1,000/kg at Saidapet. Chicken prices are also high when compared to last week. It is priced at Rs 120/kg. Last week, it was selling at Rs 70 a kilo.
*The Covid-19 lockdown is stressful for most people, but can be more so for those with autism, who can experience anxiety over the uncertainty and lack of control brought in by the sudden change in routine.
