Lockdown relaxation: Chennai roads back to normal, well almost – Times of India

Chennai News

CHENNAI: Arterial roads in Chennai, including the Anna Salai and the Poonamallee High Road, saw a huge rush of vehicles, especially cars and two-wheelers, due to some lockdown relaxations announced by the central government.
Many vehicles had ‘Essential services’ stickers on their windshields.
Police gave a slip to the usual vehicle checks. The vehicles were not stopped and checked for passes though traffic police were seen manning the junctions.
“We were asked to report to work today using our own vehicle. I am carrying my identity card with me as we were not given instructions on the passes. I was not stopped by the policemen,” said Sanjeev Kumar, a central government employee at Nungambakkam.
