Coronavirus: Recovery rate rises in Tamil Nadu – Times of India

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu on Tuesday saw 4,545 Covid-19 patients either being discharged from hospitals or ending home isolation after being cured. With these, the number of people who were cured rose to 71,116, pushing the recovery rate close to 60%.
As many as 3,616 people tested positive for the viral infection on Tuesday. This pushed the case tally to 1,18,594.
While Chennai reported 1,203 fresh cases, its neighbours Chengalpet (89), Kancheepuram (106), Tiruvallur (217) together logged 412 cases
Madurai reported 334 cases. While Kanyakumari recorded 119 cases, Theni had 94 cases. Tuticorin reported 144 cases, Tirunelveli registered 181 cases and Virudhunagar recorded 253 cases.
Other districts that reported high number of cases include Vellore (117), Tiruvannamalai (99), Ranipet (125).
Hospitals across the state reported 65 deaths in the last 24 hours. Chennai logged 33 deaths, and its neighbours recorded a dozen more in the last 24 hours. While Chengalpet and Madurai had eight deaths each, Tiruvallur reported four.
