Chennai: Coronavirus related deaths have seen an upward movement on the graph in Chennai. This has come despite the fresh Covid-19 cases slowly declining in the city.

According to a media report, Chennai has reported 500 deaths in the last five days – 109 of which were reported on Monday itself. However, the report suggests that the doubling rate of the case fatalities in the city had come down to 24 days from 19 days last month.

Tamil Nadu has one of the lowest fatality rates

It has also been suggested that Tamil Nadu, that announced it’s first death in the latter half of March, has the lowest fatality rate among the states that have been reporting the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country.

Starting from March, the fatality graph started to grow over the months and the southern state saw a total of 1845 deaths in July. Meanwhile, the state Health Department also said that over 400 deaths went unreported in the state between March to JulY.
