Catherine Tresa celebrates 6 years of Madras: Couldn’t have asked for a better debut – India Today

Catherine Tresa made her Tamil debut with director Pa Ranjith’s Madras. Today (September 26), she took to Twitter to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Madras by sharing some memorable pictures and a heartfelt note. She said that she couldn’t have had a better film and a character for her debut in Kollywood. She also thanked her fans for showering so much love on the film and her.

Madras, directed by Pa Ranjith, starred Karthi and Catherine Tresa in the lead roles. Catherine essayed the role of Kalaiyarasi opposite Karthi. She got nostalgic on this special day and expressed her happiness.

Sharing a few photos, Catherine Tresa wrote, “I couldn’t have asked for a better film and character to debut with than Madras and Kalaiarasi. Thank you all so very much for all the love you have shown our film and me. Indebted to you and will always strive to entertain you better. All my #6yearsofMadras (sic),” with a heart emoji.

Madras, which hit the theatres in 2014, ended up as a blockbuster film. The film also starred Kalaiyarasan, Riythvika, Charles Vinoth, Mime Gopi and Pavel Navageethan in supporting roles.

As the title suggests, the film portrayed the lives of people hailing from North Chennai. With a wall as a conflict, Madras focussed on the politics, friendship, betrayal and the livelihood of people living in North Chennai.

Produced by Studio Green, the film’s music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The technical crew includes editor Praveen KL and cinematographer Murali G.
