Two cops die in Chennai road accident – Times of India

CHENNAI: Two armed reserve police constables died after a car hit their two-wheeler near DAV Girls’ School at Mogappair in Chennai in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Ravindran and Karthik. Ravindran was riding the two-wheeler while Karthik was riding pillion on it. The duo, who were attached to the armed reserve unit of the city police, were going to Koyambedu from Ambattur for duty when the car hit the two-wheeler.
Ravindran died on the spot. Karthik, who suffered injuries, was taken to government hospital where he died.
Three occupants in the car suffered injuries in the accident. They have been identified as Rohit Surya, 21, of K K Nagar, Varun Sekar, 20, of Nolambur and Amarnath, 25. Rohit and Varun are students. Amarnath was driving the car. The car belonged to Varun, police said.
The Thirumangalam traffic investigation wing police registered a case.
