IIT-Madras startup launches smart test series for IAS, IPS aspirants – Times of India

Chennai News

CHENNAI: IIT-Madras incubated startup Excelon Academy has launched a data-driven smart test series to help IAS and IPS aspirants clear the preliminary examinations. The test series contains 4,200 questions and aspirants would get an individual analysis report for every single test they take.
It would also provide analysis of strong and weak areas based on candidates’ test performance to enable candidates to focus on weaker areas.
The academy is also offering four tests covering static, current affairs and civil services aptitude test along with its three levels of test analysis, free of cost to all aspirants.
The online test series was started last year during the Covid-19 lockdown to help the aspirants. More than 5,000 aspirants are already using the academy’s test series.
“Rather than just telling aspirants their score, we wanted to conduct the tests intelligently. This test series will give an analysis of their performance like which areas they are weak and which books and topics they need to study. It would help aspirants preparing for UPSC exams know where they stand in terms of exams,” said T Udhay Kumar, an alumnus of IIT-Madras and co-founder of Excelon Academy.
Candidates can take each test three times over the period of 18 months till June 2022. The startup has divided the test series into four modules and they can take any one of the modules or more in which they need improvement. The free tests will help them identify the areas in which they are weak.
For example, it provides colour coded and specific feedback such as “You are weak in fundamental rights, union executive, average in judiciary and strong in centre and state relations.”
In addition, for each of the incorrect and un-attempted question, it points to the chapter number that needs to be studied by the test taker, making selective revision possible. With only a few months left for civil service preliminary examination 2021, consolidation and selective revision is the key to success.
The startup also offers free personal guidance on a weekly basis to help the candidates to progress.
