Asserting that adequate doses of Covid vaccine are available in Tamil Nadu, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Monday called upon government staff to get vaccinated within two weeks. During a review meeting with the heads of departments at the Secretariat, the chief minister said the public should get vaccinated at nearby hospitals. Even as Tamil Nadu reported 6,711 new Covid cases and 19 deaths, officials on Monday warned that Chennai, the worst-hit district, could run out of oxygen beds. For the second day, Chennai reported more than 2,000 cases.
