Chennai: Heartless man dumps elderly mother in thorny bushes; woman rescued by cops – Times Now

Chennai: Another shocking incident came to light in a village near Tamil Nadu’s Chennai where a heartless son abandoned his elderly mother in thorny bushes on Thursday.

On Thursday night, some people going to the riverbed heard a woman cry in pain. They followed the voice and reached the woman and were shocked as she was crying in pain as she was trapped in thorny bushes.

As per the report in the Times of India, the elderly woman, identified as Gandhimathi, a resident of Sekkadu in Manali, had not eaten properly for the past couple of days, as per the police. They also added that she looked weak as she did not get enough food.

As soon as the residents saw the woman trapped in thorny bushes, they informed the cops and also alerted the ambulance.

Ponneri assistant superintendent of police Kalpana Dutt said, “The older woman needed immediate medical attention. The team from the Ponneri police station led by the inspector Martin Premraj rescued her and sent her to hospital,” as quoted by TOI.

Woman stayed at her son’s place

The woman was the mother to two sons Ravi and Sankar. While Ravi worked as a mason, Sankar was a fortune teller.

The woman informed the cops that she stayed in her son’s house for alternate weeks. However, as her elder son refused to take care of her, she was staying at her fortune-teller son’s house for the past few weeks.

It was on Thursday when Sankar and his friend took the lady on a bike and abandoned her in thorny bushes near a village in Chennai and sped away from the spot.

As per the Tiruvallur district superintendent of police, a case has not been registered. They will lodge the same if the woman wills to complain about the shameful act of her sons.
