Chennai man lands on top of car after jumping off a bridge, gets saved – India Today

A man tried to kill himself by jumping off Chennai’s Chrompet bridge on Saturday. A video of the incident, which has now gone viral, shows a man falling on top of a moving car on GST Road, Chennai.

The video shows speeding vehicles and pedestrians about to cross the road when car a man suddenly falls on a car. The car immediately slows down and the pedestrians can be seen flagging their hands up in an attempt to alert other vehicles approaching the area.

Marimuthu, 34, is from Sivagangai district in Tamil Nadu and worked at a biryani shop in Chennai. Two days ago, he requested a leave from work to visit his hometown.

Earlier, the cops believed it was an accident. However, a preliminary investigation revealed Marimuthu had not gone home and tried to end his life by jumping off the flyover due to family problems.

He suffered injuries on his head, hands and legs, following the fall from the bridge. He was admitted to Chrompet government hospital on Saturday. He was later transferred to Rajiv Gandhi Medical Hospital in Chennai for further treatment.
