CHENNAI: A three-member gang hacked a van driver to death in Tambaram on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Vignesh, 24, of Bharathi Nagar in Peerkankaranai. He on his way home from his friend’s house when the gang intercepted him hacked him to death.
Passersby alerted police, who visited the place and sent Vignesh’s body for a postmortem.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he had a previous enmity with Mani of Tiruvallur. Following this, Vignesh shifted his house to Peerkankanarai to avoid getting into more problems. Police suspect Mani’s hand in the murder.
