Chennai, Hyderabad Coronavirus News Live Updates: Tamil Nadu recorded 12,772 positive cases of COVID-19 on Monday, bringing the state tally to 23,66,493. Among these, Chennai reported 828 positive cases, bringing the city’s total to 5,25,826. The state recorded 254 deaths on Monday, putting the state toll at 29,801. 197 of them had succumbed due to comorbidities. A total of 25,561 patients were discharged following treatment, taking the total number of recoveries to 21,99,808.

Telangana on Monday reported 1,511 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths, pushing the tally so far to 6,04,880 and 3,496 respectively. The number of recovered people outnumbered the fresh cases with 2,175 people recuperating from the infectious disease, taking the cumulative number of recoveries to 5,80,923. The number of active cases was 20,461, the bulletin said.
