CHENNAI: Chennai’s daily test positivity rate (TPR) for Covid-19 has dropped below 1%, as per data released by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) on Thursday.
The TPR indicates the spread of an infection and the number of positive cases for every 100 people tested.
The TPR on June 29 and 30 was 0.95 and 0.93, respectively. Daily testing has remained consistent at 27,000-28,000.
It is for the first time since August last year that Chennai’s daily TPR drops below 1%. The GCC started publishing testing figures in August last year.
