Chennai: Arts & science colleges to launch online application window from today – Times of India

CHENNAI: Colleges in the city are planning to launch online applications for admissions to arts and science courses for the 2021-22 academic year from Monday.
While most colleges are mulling online applications, some colleges which have already opened online registrations are now planning to allow students to update their Class XII marks.
Ethiraj College for Women principal S Kothai said her college will issue online applications to fill up 2,450 seats, and that the admission process will be completely online this year.
DG Vaishnav College in Arumbakkam has received more than 30,000 online registrations for 3,000 seats for this academic year. “Before admissions, we will allow Class XII state board students to upload their marks with their applications. CBSE Class XII results are expected on July 28. After the results, CBSE students will be given two or three days to upload marks,” said S Santhosh Baboo, principal of DG Vaishnav College.
The directorate of collegiate education on Sunday announced that students can register online for 1.06 lakh seats in 143 government arts and science colleges from July 26 to August 10. They can register their online applications at tngasa.org, tngasa.in Tamil Nadu Government Collegiate Teachers Association (TNGCTA) president T Veeramani urged the government to speed up the admission process for government arts and science colleges.
“The higher education department can give up to one week for CBSE students to upload their marks after the results and wind up the admission process. If the admission process is further delayed, students will join private colleges,” he said.
