Tamil Nadu Chennai News August 25, 26 Highlights: Tamil Nadu recorded 1,559 positive cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, bringing the state tally to 26,07,206. Among these, Chennai reported 175 positive cases, bringing the city’s total to 5,43,249. The state recorded 26 deaths on Thursday, putting the state toll at 34,814
The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) commenced its mega Covid-19 vaccination camp at 7 am in Chennai today. The drive was conducted at 400 camps in all the 200 wards of the city. The civic body, in a press release, said a total of 1,25,147 people were vaccinated in the drive today, the highest since the vaccination commenced in the city.
Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who holds the finance portfolio, Thursday presented the Budget for the fiscal 2021-22. Rangasamy said the Budget size for the year 2021-22 has been fixed at Rs 9,924.41 crore and the Union Territory’s own revenue receipts have been estimated at Rs 6,190 crore.
