Thunderstorm with moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Tiruvallur, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Tanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Ranipet, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Ariyalur, Perambalur and Tiruchirapalli districts within the next 1-2 hours, the Meteorological department said. Parts of Tamil Nadu have been receiving heavy rainfall since Saturday, turning out to be one of the heaviest in recent years.
