The police have urged citizens to reach home prior to 12am on December 31. Only essential and emergency services are exempted under this rule.

Parking of vehicles near the beach has also been prohibited. The movement of vehicles will also be prohibited on the beach roads from 9 pm on December 31.

Around 10,000 police personnel will be on duty in the city to check for any violations.
