MADURAI: A ‘Modi Pongal’ event planned to be held in Madurai on January 12 by the BJP has been cancelled in view of the new Covid-19 restrictions announced by the Tamil Nadu government, party president K Annamalai said on Thursday.
However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s participation in an event in Virudhunagar where he is scheduled to inaugurate medical colleges would be decided by the government, Annamalai told reporters.
