Chennai: Police launches 24-hour helpline desk to clear doubts on lockdown – India Today

Amid the sharp rise in the number of Covid cases, the Tamil Nadu government has imposed strict curbs to control the spread of the virus. On Sunday, the active number of Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu breached the 50,000-mark on Sunday.

Due to the surge in Covid cases in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister MK Stalin announced that a night curfew (from 10 pm to 5 am) will be imposed in the state from January 6 and a complete lockdown will be observed on all Sundays.

In order to answer all the queries about the lockdown restrictions, Greater Chennai police have set up a 24-hour help desk.

As per the report by the Times of India (TOI), the desk will address all questions regarding the Covid-19 lockdown. It will assist in providing clarity to the residents’ questions on the movement of essential commodities and guidance for the purchase of medicine.

Help desk number for lockdown queries

The desk will function 24*7. People can contact the help desk at 94981 81236, 94981 81239, 72007 06492 and 72007 01843 round the clock to seek help, apart from 100 and 112, said a press release.
