Law or order situation: CM Stalin holds review meeting with DGP, Chennai commissioner – Times of India

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Saturday held a review meeting with chief secretary V Irai Anbu, director general of police C Sylendra Babu and other senior officials over the law and order situation in the state.
Greater Chennai Corporation police commissioner Shankar Jaiswal also participated in the meeting.
The meeting was held at a time when the opposition parties are lashing out at government on the sale of contrabands and series of murderers. Opposition party leader and former chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday charged that the law and order deteriorated in the state, particularly in the state capital.
Deputy opposition leader and AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam and other opposition parties have also criticised the DMK government in connection with the law-and-order situation. They charged that people were scared to walk in the state in broad daylight.
However, police department sources said it was a routine review meeting. After his visit to delta districts, the CM held review meetings with various departments for two consecutive days on Wednesday and Thursday. As a continuation of the review meeting, the CM was holding the review meeting, they said.
Special officer of Mudhalvarin Mugavari department Shilpha Prabhakaran, advisor to Tamil Nadu e-Governance P W C Davidar also attended the review meeting.
