A Met department forecast showed that the city may receive another spell of showers on Monday.
Private weather bloggers said that the rain on Sunday could be a signal that more thunderstorms were likely to occur in the coming days. Weather models showed winds changing to westerlies, which in turn led to the thunderstorms across the city.
