Woman dies as tree falls on car in Chennai – Times of India

CHENNAI: A woman died and two others suffered injuries when a tree fell on a car they were travelling in at KK Nagar in Chennai on Friday evening.
The tree fell when workers were digging the ground for constructing a stormwater drainage system.
The deceased has been identified as Vani Kabilan, who worked as a manager in a bank in the city. Her friend Ezhilarasi and car driver Karthik escaped with injuries.
Construction workers and onlookers removed the tree that fell on the car and rescued the occupants. They were sent to Government Royapettah Hospital (GRH) where doctors examined Vani Kabilan and declared that she had died.
