Chennai: Techie booked for spying on wife – Times of India

Chennai: A city-based software engineer, who used his tech skills to spy on his separated wife, has been booked for stalking and criminal intimidation. His wife filed for divorce after finding out his affair with her friend.
Police said, Sathanya and S Sanjay married in 2011. The couple were living in a posh bungalow at the Asta AVM campus in Vadapalani. Sanjay works with a leading software company in Sholinganallur.
When Sathanya was pregnant, and living with her parents ahead of the childbirth, Sanjay got acquainted with one of her friends, which later became an affair. During the pandemic, when Sanjay stayed put at home, Sathanya found out about his affair.
She moved to her parents’ house in 2020 and filed for divorce in 2021. Recently, Sathanya discovered a GPS device installed in her car. She also found a CCTV camera installed opposite to her house.
She came to know that the gadgets had been placed by her husband to spy on her, and she approached the police.
Based on her complaint, the Valasaravakkam all-women police have registered a case under various sections of Tamil Nadu Prevention of Women Harassment Act. The cops have launched a hunt for Sanjay, who has gone missing.
