CHENNAI: US-headquartered telecom giant AT&T has opened its first development centre in Chennai and second in India.
The new facility, located at RMZ Millenia on the IT Corridor, was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu IT minister T Mano Thangaraj on Monday.
The new centre has a capacity of around 300 people and will house the strategic platforms team of AT&T with product engineering and operations staff.
“We recognize the talent and potential in Chennai and are excited about offering an environment where teams can work on features that have a direct impact on AT&T customers and employees,” Bala Subramanian, chief digital officer, AT&T, said.
“In addition, we are also building a dedicated digital operations centre (DoC) that will act as a beachhead for our customer-centric operations transformation.”
Around 80 people have already been hired for the centre that is fully equipped with meeting rooms, personal workspaces, wellness room, library and entertainment areas.
AT&T has been present in Hyderabad for over a decade.
