Chennai, Tamil Nadu Highlights : Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian on Sunday ruled out reports of monkeypox in the state and said rumours of positive cases were being spread by a section of media. The Minister for Health and Family Welfare reiterated his earlier comments that the health department has intensified the screening procedures at 13 locations bordering Tamil Nadu with Kerala and also at the four international airports present in the state.
Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu Sunday presented the Tamil Nadu police with the prestigious President’s Colour in Chennai. The President’s Colour is the highest honour given to the military, paramilitary and police forces of States and Union Territories. The State police will be the first in Southern India and among 10 others in the country to showcase the honour. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin was also present during the occasion.

Those trying to “impose” one language, one faith and one culture were the country’s “enemies,” and there was no place for such “evil forces,” he said. Stalin was virtually addressing the “India @75 Manorama News Conclave 2022” in Kerala’s Thrissur from Chennai, where he expressed concern over the recent suspension of 27 Parliamentarians, saying the right to express was being denied.
