Chennai: Two people injured as sign board collapses after MTC bus rams into pole – Times of India

CHENNAI: Two people were injured after a MTC bus rammed into a pole carrying signboard, which fell on the victims travelling in a load auto and a bike near Aasarkhana bus stop, on Sunday afternoon.
The victims were identified as Sathyanarayanan, a load auto driver and biker Shanmugasundaram (30) of Pudukottai.
The driver of MTC bus 70v coming from Tambaram and proceeding towards Koyambedu lost control and hit a pole that had a sign board on it.
In the impact, the pillar fell down on the two vehicles, leaving two injured.

The bus driver and conductor escaped from the scene. The passengers in the bus escaped unhurt.
Since the sign board fell on both side of the road, traffic was disrupted for a while.
The victims were rushed to Royapettah government hospital and the condition of Shanmugasundaram is critical, said reports/
