The Madras High Court on Friday set aside a previous order invalidating the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s (AIADMK’s) July 11 general council meeting. With the latest order, former Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami’s (EPS) appointment as the interim general secretary at the July 11 meeting has been restored, lending yet another twist to the ongoing legal battle with his rival O Panneerselvam (OPS) to capture the party.
Heavy rainfall lashed Chennai and its neighbouring districts on Thursday resulting in waterlogging in several low-lying areas in the city.
