Chennai News Highlights: Equating lawyer’s argument to a lamp shining without discrimination, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday urged law students to strive and ensure victory to justice and not confine to the success of their clients. Justice, especially social justice, should be all-pervading and students aspiring to take up law as a profession should serve as messengers of justice, the Chief Minister said while speaking at the silver jubilee of Dr Ambedkar Law University at Tharamani here.

In other news, a senior Tamil Nadu BJP functionary on Tuesday said he has filed a complaint with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against A Raja for his alleged hate speech against Hindus and wanted the DMK MP to be refrained from contesting in future elections. CTR Nirmal Kumar, State President IT and Social Media, wanted action against Raja for his “unethical” act.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian on Monday said that there was nothing to be alarmed about the surge in H1N1 influenza (swine flu) cases, and added that there was no need to declare holiday for schools since the parents were already advised not to send their wards to school if they have any symptom such as cold or fever. Subramanian’s reply comes after Opposition parties, including Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), urged the government to announce holiday for school children in the wake of rising fever cases.
