By Pramod Madhav: A woman and her child died after being rammed by a biker while they were crossing the road in Chennai. The incident took place around 3.30 am near Anna Arch, Amanjikarai on Sunday, when a 28-year-old woman named Punguzhali was crossing the road with her six-month-old.
As per the reports, when she was crossing the road, a KTM bike rammed into them, throwing the woman and her baby into the air.
The commuters stopped the rider and the pillion passenger after the accident and informed the police.
The woman and her child succumbed to their injuries,causing outrage among the public, who alleged that the rider was drunk.
The Chennai police detained the couple and took them to the K4 Police station for enquiry. Further investigations are underway.
