A 57-year-old professional race car driver died while participating in an event near Chennai on Sunday. He lost control of his car, which hit the barriers and tumbled, leading to his death. The entire accident was caught on a camera placed on the race circuit.

By Pramod Madhav: A professional car racer from Chennai died on Sunday after he lost control of his vehicle, crashed into the barriers and tumbled during a race event. The entire accident and the car subsequently tumbling over were captured on one of the cameras placed on the circuit to record the event.
The incident took place when the victim was participating in a car race on the circuit at Irungattukottai on the outskirts of Chennai city. The deceased was identified as 57-year-old Kumar from Teynampet, who was an avid professional race car driver. He was running a hotel near Thandalam and had also participated in and won several car races.
Recently, Kumar participated in the 36km IJTC car race conducted on a circuit at Irungattukottai. It was during this event that he lost his life in an accident.
Halfway through the race, Kumar lost control of his car, which crashed into the barriers and tumbled. Kumar was rushed to a private hospital but succumbed due to his injuries.
Sriperumbudur Police then sent Kumar’s body for autopsy at the government hospital and initiated an investigation into the crash. A camera placed on the circuit captured the exact moment of the accident, which has now gone viral.
