IndiGo flyer opened emergency exit on Chennai-Trivandrum flight in December, probe on – India Today

A probe was ordered after a passenger on a Chennai-Trivandrum IndiGo flight opened the emergency door of the aircraft. The incident happened on December 10, 2022.

By India Today Web Desk: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday said it has ordered a probe into an incident wherein a passenger on an IndiGo flight opened the emergency door of the aircraft last year.

The incident happened on December 10, 2022.

According to the DGCA, the unruly passenger created a scare among those travelling on the IndiGo 6E flight 6E-7339 from Chennai to Trivandrum.

The flight took off after pressurisation checks soon after, it said.

This year on January 9, two passengers onboard a Patna-bound IndiGo flight were arrested upon arrival from Delhi, following a complaint from the airline.

According to the police, the two passengers were under the influence of alcohol.

The accused, identified as Nitish and Rahul, hailed from Bihar’s Hajipur and were subjected to a breath analyzer test after landing, the SHO of the Airport police station confirmed.
