CHENNAI: AIADMK interim general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has announced a 106-member election committee for election work in Erode East assembly constituency where a bypoll will be held on February 27. The committee is headed by former minister K A Sengottaiyan.
This committee has 52 former ministers, including K P Munusamy, Dindigul C Srinivasan, Natham R Viswanathan, C Ponnaiyan, M Thambidurai, P Thangamani, Pollachi Jayaraman, S P Velumani, C V Shanmugam, D Jayakumar, N Thalavai Sundaram, C Vijayabaskar, S Semmalai, R B Udhayakumar and Sellur K Raju.
EPS said the committee would endeavour to ensure the victory of the AIADMK candidate with a large margin.
Two days ago, AIADMK’s ally BJP constituted a 14-member committee for election work. The TMC, another ally of the AIADMK, has constituted a 16-member committee.
