Chennai to host G-20 EdWG meet on Feb 1, 2 – United News of India

Chennai, Jan 27 (UNI) The G20 Education Working Group’s (EdWG) meeting

will be held here on February one and two.

Preceding the meeting, a seminar on ‘Role of Digital Technology in Education’

will be organized at Research Park, IIT Madras, official sources said today.

The G20 Education Working Group’s will focus on ensuring Foundational Literacy

and Numeracy especially in context of blended learning, making Tech-enabled

learning more inclusive, qualitative and collaborative at every level, building

capacities, promoting Life-long Learning in the context of Future of Work,

strengthening Research, promoting Innovation through richer collaboration

and partnerships.

It has been organised to build a resilient and inclusive education and skilling

ecosystem and realize the creative potential of each learner which is further

elucidated in the National Education Policy, 2020.

The G20 will provide an opportunity to share what India has achieved in the

education sector on a global platform. Also a chance to learn and highlight

the best practices from around the world.

As many as 13 G-20 member and guest countries, including international

organizations will be participating in the seminar, which is divided into three

sessions in the form of a panel discussion: Providing accessible and equitable

education for K-12 learners, Enabling high-quality learning opportunities at

scale, Emerging technologies to provide skill education and training.

The key participants in the exhibition are from Tamilnadu (Naan Mudalvan

/EDII – Tansim /Guidance Bureau/TNSDC/Nama Palli), India Swayam–

Samarth–Diksha–Other Govt Initiatives, Start Up India Education for

physically challenged – Dyslexia and Bipolar Disorder. Saudi Arabia, UAE,

UNICEF, France, China, Netherlands etc.,

The visiting foreign delegates would be taken on a tour to the tourist spot

of Mahabalipuram, about 55 km from here on on February 1, where they

will visit the Shore Temple, Five Chariots and other heritage monuments.
