G20 Summit India: G20 Education Working Group to meet today in Chennai

Ahead of the G20 Summit, The G20 Education Working Group would be meeting today, February 1, 2023 as per the calendar for the Sherpa Track. During this meet in Chennai, the G20 EdWG would be focusing on education policies such as NEP 2020, education infrastructure and ways to make tech-based learning more inclusive for students.

The G20 Education Working Group Seminar would also be working on various other topics such as foundational literacy and numeracy, future of work, advancing research, and encouraging innovation through richer cooperation and partnerships. The last day of the meeting is tomorrow, February 2, 2023.

Before the commencement of the meeting today, IIT Madras conducted a seminar which focus on the role digital technology plays in education.

The seminar hosted by IIT Madras was divided into three parts of a panel discussions. These were – Providing accessible and equitable education for K-12 learners, enabling high-quality learning opportunities at scale, and emerging technologies to provide skill education and training.

This 3-day conference will be taking place at IIT Madras Research Park. The G20 Education working group meeting would have delegates from each of the G20 member countries, international organisations such as UNICEF, World bank, and Indian knowledge partners. The aim behind these meets is to promote possible research and academic collaboration among educational institutions in G20 countries.

The Education working group would be meeting later in the year at Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar and Pune for the G20 Sherpa Track and the G20 Summit. The details for these meets would be disclosed later on.
