Chennai rain: City’s southern part receives heavy rain – Times of India

CHENNAI: The southern suburbs of Chennai received heavy rain on Sunday morning.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded 24.8mm rain at Meenambakkam. But Nungambakkam recorded only a ‘trace’ of rain.
Short spells of heavy rain continued in Velachery, Alandur, Nanganallur, Meenambakkam, Adyar and Thiruvanmiyur.
Light rain is expected to continue throughout the day. Waterlogging was seen on some roads in Adyar and other areas.
There is a dense cloud cover over most part of the city especially over north western suburbs like Ambattur, Red Hills, Avadi, Red Hills, Poonamallee, Minjur, Ponneri and others.
