CHENNAI: August 31 (Monday) will be a local holiday in Chennai district in view of the Onam festival, district collector R Seethalakshmi announced on Thursday.
However, district treasury and sub-treasury offices would function on August 31 for the convenience of the public, a release from the collector said.
She said September 9 (Saturday) will be a working day for government offices in the district in lieu of the Onam holiday on August 31.
