Final Semester Exams 2020: Madras University to conduct UG exams between September 21 to 30 – Times Now

The University of Madras has released the final semester exams 2020 dates for undergraduate courses. The varsity has asked all the affiliated colleges to gear up to conduct exams between September 21 to 30, 2020. A circular has also been released by the University for the conduct of undergraduate and postgraduate exams.

As per the circular released, the exam will be conducted in offline mode as a pen and paper exam for those candidates residing in the state. Online exams would be conducted for students from other states. The exam notification will be released by the varsity on September 9.  

The online facility would be given out to those students who are under quarantine or are in containment zones. For taking up online exams, students will have to send a written request and send it via email or by speed post along with proof to the head of the department before the deadline i.e., by September 16.

As per The Hindu report, The exams for students who have completed course work, but have arrears in the final semester, would be held after receiving guidelines from the State government, the Registrar said in the circular.

For practical exams, the departments concerned can decide as to when to conduct the exams. However, the colleges have been permitted to conduct the practical exams through oral online assessments and evaluation of the soft copies of the project work.

The exam duration will be between 90 minutes and three hours and the department committees can prepare the exam schedule. The question paper pattern would be the same for both online and offline exams. The circular more reads that the test results are expected to release by October 14 and the same would be uploaded from October 16 to 23.

The University of Bangalore has also released the final year exam dates. The examination for both UG/PG courses would begin in September and would end in October. The date sheet has been released for PG Arts, Commerce, Education, Science courses along with MCA, B.Sc, B.Ed, B.E/ B.Tech, and B.Arch programs.
