CHENNAI: A gang hacked a rowdy — involved in a murder case — to death at Vyasarpadi in Chennai. The murdered has been identified as Hari, 44, of JJ Nagar. Police arrested eight suspects.
Initial inquiries revealed that Hari and his son were involved in the murder of rowdy Prabhu alias Pabloo in Andhra Pradesh in 2017. Police said Hari had been murdered by Prabhu’s aides and friends.
The gang attacked him on Monday night when he was sitting outside his home chatting with his wife. Hari, who was badly injured, was rushed to the Government Stanley Hospital where he died on Tuesday morning.
The MKB Nagar police nabbed eight suspects, who were holed up at Ambattur, within hours. The arrested have been identified as Santhosh, Praveen, Ajith, Sankar, Basu, Sanjay, Ganesh and Kumar. The police detained them at a secluded place and were conducting inquiries.
