Tamil Nadu Chennai News Live Updates: Nalini Sriharan, a life convict in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, has yet again moved the Madras High Court, seeking to declare as “unconstitutional” the failure on the part of the Tamil Nadu Governor to act on the state government’s earlier recommendation for the release of all seven persons involved and to order her release without the Governor’s consent.
In Covid-related news, Tamil Nadu has set a target to inoculate 1.50 crore people in October through mega vaccination camps with the aim of giving the shots to at least 70 per cent of the population as prescribed by the World Health Organisation and in line with the advise of Chief Minister M K Stalin, state minister Ma Subramanian said here on Friday.
Meanwhile, state Advocate-General R Shanmugasundaramall told the Madras High Court that all polling stations for the ensuing civic polls in Tamil Nadu would have CCTVs which would roll without any break. The cameras would operate before the polling starts on the polling day till a short while after it is closed.
