CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation will give free medical kits to all people who take an RT-PCR test for Covid-19. The kits will be given prior to the arrival of their results.
Corporation commissioner Gagandeep Singh Bedi on Saturday said the medical kits would include zync tablets, paracetamol, vitamin C tablets, azithromycin and masks. “This move is to reduce the symptoms of patients even before the results arrive,” the commissioner said.
Corporation staff will be intimated by the UPHCs and private labs on details of patients who take RT-PCR tests, and a corporation volunteer will visit the patient’s house to give the kit.
Earlier, the civic body gave medical kits only to Covid positive patients.
