Tamil Nadu urban local body polls: Independent candidate wins in Chennai – Times of India

CHENNAI: B Rajan, an independent candidate who contested from ward 23 in Chennai Corporation, prevailed over candidates belonging to major political parties.
As many as 21 candidates including those from major Dravidian parties- DMK, AIADMK and other parties like DMDK, AMMK, Naam Tamilar Katchi, PMK, Kamal Haasan’s MNM too contested from the ward.
Ward 23 falls under Zone 3 (Madhavaram) of the Chennai Corporation.
