A 26-year-old man, who had been warned to keep away from a Class XII student he had been stalking, stabbed the girl in Coonoor on Friday. While the condition of the girl, admitted to the government hospital in the town, is stable, the accused, A Mohammed Ashik of Rajaji Nagar in Coonoor, was arrested and sent to jail.
