Chennai: The state government has transferred N Kannan, additional commissioner of police, south Chennai. The officer has been replaced by north zone IGP Prem Anand Sinha.
Sinha had earlier worked as the Madurai city police commissioner and the joint commissioner of police of the Chennai city.
The transfer order was issued by S K Prabhakar, additional chief secretary to the state government, late on Wednesday night. The police sources said that they don’t know the immediate reason for the transfer of 2001-batch IPS officer N Kannan.
