CHENNAI: A software engineer murdered his wife, daughter and son before committing suicide at his house near Pallavaram in Chennai on Friday night.
Police said Prakash, 42, who was employed at a private software company, his wife Gayathri, 39, daughter Nithya Shree, 11, and son Hari Krishnan, 9, stayed at a house in Venkateshwara Nagar at Polichalur.
He murdered his wife and children by slicing their necks and hanged himself.
On being alerted by locals, the Sankar Nagar police rushed to the spot.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that Prakash had resorted to the extreme step due to debt. Police didn’t find any suicide note.
