Private Agency Allegedly Collects Citizen’s Biometric Data Without Contract, Chennai Corp Under Lens – Times Now

In a shocking development being reported from down south, the Chennai corporation is under scanner after it allegedly allowed a private agency to collect biometric data of people belonging to Economic Weaker Sections, without a specified contract. As per reports, finger prints and retina scans were taken by the agency several times. It is to be noted that there is no specific guidelines for the collection of biometric information.
