Unlock in Tamil Nadu: CM announces another relaxation for shops, restaurants – Times of India

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday announced that all shops and commercial establishments, including vegetable, grocery, restaurants and teashops, are allowed to operate till 10pm starting Thursday. At present, the shops are closed at 9pm.
In a statement, the chief minister said the shops and establishments should adhere to the standard operating procedures. The decision has been taken considering the upcoming festive season and the need to retrieve the economy furthermore.
“The government has been actively involved in protecting the people from coronavirus and extending relief to them. That is the reason, the spread is under control and the recovery rate in the state being high in the country. Also, the fatality rate is less,” the CM said.
