Chennai Corporation health inspector dies in road accident – Times of India

CHENNAI: A woman, who was working as a health inspector with the Greater Chennai Corporation, was fatally knocked down by a truck near Tambaram on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Monisha Surendrakumar, 29. She was a corporation health inspector at Adambakkam.
On Friday morning, Monisha was going for work on a two-wheeler. Health inspector Manikandan, 33, was riding the motorcycle while Monisha was riding pillion on it.
The accident happened on the GST Road at New Perungalathur. Manikandan turned the two-wheeler to the left to avoid being hit by an MTC bus. However, a truck carrying LPG cylinders, that was moving on the left side, hit the two-wheeler.
Monisha came under the back wheels of the truck and died on the spot.
Manikandan suffered a fracture on his right shoulder and a serious injury on his face.
The Chromepet traffic investigation wing police registered a case and arrested truck driver Balamurugan,40. He was remanded in judicial custody.
