Tamil Nadu lockdown: Govt announces these relaxations – Times of India

CHENNAI: A day after extending the total lockdown for a week, the Tamil Nadu government on Saturday issued an order easing the curbs, between 6am on May 31 and 6am on June 7.
It has permitted export units, which have commitments or orders, and vendor units providing inputs to such industries to function with 50% of workers in all the districts, except Coimbatore, Tirupur, Salem, Karur, Erode, Namakkal, Trichy and Madurai.
An order issued by chief secretary V Irai Anbu listed the activities permitted during the lockdown extension, which starts extension on May 31.
The staff/workers in the export units will be permitted to travel in buses, vans, tempos and cars arranged by the respective industries with e-registration.
“Industries which have been permitted to operate will initiate immediate action to vaccinate all their employees within a month,” the order said.
The state has allowed inter-state and inter-district travel in case of individuals for medical emergencies and funeral/last rites with e-registration.
The other relaxations extended for this week will continue, including sale of vegetables and fruits using vehicles in all the districts by the departments concerned. From May 31, provision stores will be permitted to sell essentials in vehicles/carts in the neighbourhood after necessary permission from the local bodies concerned.
Home delivery can be done between 7am and 6pm in respect to the orders received online and over phone.
The government also decided to allow railway, airport, seaport operations, and all activities relating to basic essential infrastructure sectors like, power, water supply, sanitation, telecommunication and postal services.
Banks, insurance institutions, RBI regulated financial markets, entities like NPCL, CCIL, payment system operators, clearing houses and standalone primary dealers will be allowed with one third staff. Similarly, SEBI, and capital and debt market services notified by the SEBI will also be permitted.
Medical related services, including blood banks will function. That apart, visa facilitation centres for emergency travel purposes will function with minimum staff, and the members will be allowed to travel with the ID cards issued by their organisations.
The homes for children/differently-abled/mentally challenged/senior citizens/destitute/women/widow and related transportation will be permitted with e-registration. The staff in observation homes, after-care homes and places of safety for juveniles will be allowed with ID card or e-registration.
The operation of animal husbandry farms, including poultry farms and hatcheries and livestock farming activities and animal health related activities, will be allowed. Similarly, cargo handling, including cold storage and warehousing services at ports, airports, railway stations, container depots and associated services. Movement, loading/unloading of goods/cargo, both inter-state and intra-state will be permitted.
The government will allow transportation to and from place of residence to airports/railway stations with e-registration details for their travel, travel tickets and ID proof.
Ongoing in-situ construction work will be permitted with the workers staying on the construction premises.
Volunteers, caregivers providing food and other services for persons with special needs, disabled and senior citizens will be permitted to travel with e-registration.
Intra-district travel will continue to be allowed for medical emergencies and funeral/last rites without e-registration.
