Schoolgirl, uncle die in Chennai road accident – Times of India

CHENNAI: A schoolgirl and her maternal uncle died on the spot when a car they were travelling in rammed a stationary minitruck at Red Hills in Chennai on Monday morning. The accident happened on the Karanodai bridge.
The deceased have been identified as Kanishka, 16, and her maternal uncle Nagaraj, 40. Kanishka’s sister Aswitha, 14, suffered injuries in the accident.
Kanishka and Aswitha, daughters of Kumar of Padianallur, were studying in a private school at Panchetty near Sholavaram. The accident happened when Nagaraj was going to drop the girls at their school. Nagaraj, who was driving the car, lost control, and the vehicle rammed the minitruck.
The bodies of Nagaraj and Kanishka were sent to the Government Stanley Hospital for postmortem. Aswitha was admitted to a private hospital.
The Sholavaram police registered a case. Further investigations were on.
